A number of bills and amendments have been introduced in the state Legislature to aid military reservists and National Guards personnel called to duty in the Persian Gulf.
Most of the legislation is aimed at curbing financial hardship that occurred when the "citizen soldiers" left their jobs for lower-paying military ones.
Gulf war veterans who were on active duty after Aug. 1, 1990, would be eligible for the resulting benefits if the bills become law.
