NSW: Shopkeeper said police fail to act

SYDNEY, Aug 9 AAP - A south-western Sydney shop owner who says her store was ramraided
and bombed claims she has received no help from police.

Rosemary Bartholomeu, 24, said today her Menai store had been subject to attacks twice
last month, but police had so far failed to act.

In State Parliament today, Opposition leader Kerry Chikarovski asked Premier Bob Carr
to explain to Ms Bartholomeu why police had failed to take action in the matter.

"I welcome details of that, and I would pursue it with all the seriousness it deserves,"

Mr Carr said.

Later at a press conference, Ms Bartholomeu said she did not believe Mr Carr, and invited
him to visit her store in Menai.

"I'll walk him around if I have to," she said.

Ms Bartholomeu said she now employed security guards at a cost of $1,500 a week to
guard her business.
