The IGE culinary school extended its network and opened in Miamia new platform providing education entirely over the Internet.
According to a release, the educational offer consists of a rangeof Masters and courses. Specialization in Food, Hospitality andNutrition, to pastry courses and wine tasting are only some of thecourses offered.
Agustin Castro, Director of IGE, said, "Our goal is that studentshave access to a job when they graduate. We do not want to createonly professionals in the industry, but professionals with truesuccess." He added: "We are very pleased with the reception of ourprogram, within six months we have tripled the number of students.The group of students is continually growing. Our courses aredesigned for absolute beginners to enthusiastic home cooks toambitious professionals. Among the group there are students, thereare businessmen, cooks, bartenders, college students, and unemployed...They all share a passion for cooking. In addition, the feedbackwe received from our students is positive and they are respectingthe quality of the classes."
This method of learning how to cook over the Internet isdifferent and students from around the world can access the cookingprogram via the Internet wherever they are. The school said studentswill have access to all necessary information and will communicatewith faculty through the Virtual Campus of the school. This does notrequire any additional software.
"The teacher is available at all times, guiding and supervisingthe students whole training, connected via email or videoconferencing. The student is receiving an absolutely personalizededucation: as if the teacher comes to your home, to your kitchen andgives lectures in person," said Agustin Castro. "In nowadays, thisis unthinkable in cooking schools."
