SA: BHP to investigate desalination plant for Olympic Dam
BHP Billiton will investigate building a 300 million dollar desalination plant in South
Australia .. to provide water for its massive expansion of the Olympic Dam mine.
The five billion dollar expansion of the uranium and copper operations in South Australia's
north will make it one of the biggest open cut mines in the world.
A 300 million dollar pre-feasibility study into the entire expansion is due for completion
by the end of next year.
